We are well established, expanding organization with
multiple divisions operating in the construction industry, primarily in but
not limited to, the southern Ontario market. Our companies are involved in the concrete forming, masonry and architectural precast concrete trades in both the ICI and high rise residential sectors and currently are active on more than 30 projects.
We are currently looking to fill the following position(s):
Construction Project Coordinator / Administrator - FORMING
Location Information:
Our office is 60 km north of the Hwy 401/400 interchange and 15 km south of Hwy 400/Molson Park Drive, Barrie
Profile of Skills and Education required for this position:
- Ability to read, interpret and respond to all Site Instructions and Change Requests from our masonry projects both independently and in conjunction with our Estimating staff.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
- Construction / Building Technology, Architecture and/or Engineering educational background would be an asset.
- Strong computer skills. Microsoft Excel, Word and Project will be used daily. Winest is our standard for digitizing and estimating from drawings. Experience with Winest or similar software would be a great asset.
- Strong ability to independently work with and analyze figures.
- Ability to work with suppliers, General Contractors and field personnel on a daily basis either on the phone or in person.
- Valid drivers license and access to a vehicle.
- Drafting skills would be an asset.
Position Expectations:
- Assist in closing general tenders – pre-close communications, document preparation and submission.
- Cost estimation and document preparation related to all Site Instructions and Extras to Contract on projects.
- Cost analysis vs. estimates during all phases of our projects.
- Project site visits to assist with project tracking and billing preparation.
- While not the primary focus of the position, it is expected that over time you will develop the ability to do quantity take-off and estimate development. This will include working with drawings, specifications and suppliers to develop all calculations that will feed into costing models.
- Regular travel to client and construction sites as part of this work is to be expected.
It is expected that the individual who fills this role will have the desire to develop into a full Estimator within our organization over the long term. The position is ideally suited to someone who is comfortable communicating with others and possesses advanced organizational abilities. No previous work experience is required if the applicant has relevant, recent academic credentials.
